Toronto has gone MAD over the Sakura trees these past few days, but I have to admit that my love for them has really only “blossomed” over the past few years since I started blogging. Before that, I had no idea what the hype was all about or never really bothered to check them out.

My first attempt to get some pictures with the trees last year went  horribly wrong since I thought nothing of going to High Park on a Saturday at 4pm and expecting to get beautiful solo shots among the cherry blossoms – boy was I wrong! This year I pre-planned my visit and was avid about checking High Park’s website for blooming updates. I decided to visit last Sunday when the buds were just about opening – and arriving at 7am I thought we’d be good for open space and lots of location options – but wrong again! Can you believe the parking lots were totally full and people were everywhere that early in the morning? Well, I’m sure you can if you live in Toronto, but coming from Oakville I was totally naive about the situation and in for another shock.

Despite all of this though, we managed to get some beautiful shots among the just-opening buds, showing off this look from Frank & Oak.
