As many of my friends and family can attest to, I am big on planning and scheduling. In fact, last minute engagements stress me out to the point that I often consider refusing the offer. It sounds silly, but I like to know what I’m doing and when…far in advance. This brings us to date night. When OpenTable asked me to collaborate on a date-night post, I thought this was the perfect opportunity for my husband and I to get out for one more dinner date before the new baby arrives. These have definitely become few and far between, but we certainly like to squeeze them in when we can.

Reserving high-demand restaurants in Toronto requires booking well in advance – right up my alley. So with OpenTable (which I’ve been using for years now), I secured us a table at Cibo Wine Bar on the King West strip. I skipped the wine this time around, but dived right into their yummy Summerlicious menu! As we tasted delicious starters, sipped yummy cocktails (mine was virgin of course), and ate mouth-watering pizza and canneloni, we talked baby names and nearly finalized our choices.

OpenTable makes booking reservations super easy. And for every restaurant that you book, points are accumulated towards dining cheques that can be redeemed at any one of their participating restaurants. Even if you’re more of a last minute person, you can book your restaurant of choice up to 10 minutes in advance and still collect the points. Seemless, easy bookings…perfect for date night!
