There aren’t many places we go without our car. Living in the suburbs you pretty much need to drive just about everywhere, and as much as I long for a coffee shop within walking distance – it just ain’t happening. So since we spend a whole lot of time driving around, keeping our kids safe in our vehicle is priority #1!

You may remember back in the summer I wrote a full review of the DIONO Radian RXT Car Seat that we use for our little girl (read it HERE), and it’s probably our favourite car seat we’ve ever had! Back when DIONO sent us that one, they also kindly sent us the Monterey XT Expandable Booster for our son. He was getting a bit too big for his old car seat, so this couldn’t have come at a better time and we were happy to make the switch!

This expandable high-back booster is designed for children 40-120lbs (technically I should still be in a booster then too LOL), and grows with them as they get older. The width of the seat, the headrest, and the height can all be adjusted and tailored specifically to your child’s size.

We currently have it in the fixed-position booster setting, which means that the base is secured to the vehivle with UAS connectors keeping the seat locked in place. We love that it has cup/snack holders on either side of the seat meaning my little guy can have a drink and a treat within arms reach and accessible whenever he wants them.

It’s getting harder and harder to take pics of this little guy, but I’m so happy he let me snap a few shots of him in his booster seat. What he loves about this chair is that he feels like a big-boy and that he has the same seat-belt as mom and dad. He can get in and out all on his own and even though he has no trouble unbuckling by himself, he’s such a good boy that he always asks if it’s ok first – love him!

We love our two DIONO’s and would highly recommend wither of them for both their safety and style, and are happy to have them as part of our family on the go!
