DIONO QUANTUM2 STROLLER REVIEW
Ask any mama how important a good stroller is and you’re more than likely to get the same response: VERY IMPORTANT! Function, ease of use, and even how stylish it is are all factors many parents consider before purchasing a stroller. We recently had the opportunity to test out the new Diono Quantum2 3-in-1 luxury multi-mode stroller and I’m so excited to share with you some of the amazing details that are like no other. Diono is a brand we are more than familiar with as we’ve been using their car seats for a little over a year now (see posts here and here), and have come to trust the brand for it’s safety, quality and of course style!
The most important aspect of this stroller is that it grows with you and is suitable from birth up to 5-years of age – so basically it’s the only stroller you’re going to need. Included adapters allow you to mount a wide range of infant carseats to the chassis which means your baby is safe and secure even from a very young age. Once they are big enough to sit in the seat, you can still adjust the 5-point harness to grow with your baby, as well as turn the seat front or backward facing. The seat also includes an infant headrest and toddler insert so that your child is snug and comfortable – I love how they’ve thought of everything to keep baby safe.
As with any stroller, how easily it folds and unfolds is definitely top priority. The Quantum2 has a one-handed folding operation called the “you’re in control” fold, which makes it the easiest I’ve ever tried with no heavy lifting required. And then when you’re ready to use your stroller again, the power-assisted unfold experience is beyond amazing! In the past I’ve tugged, shook, or used excessive force just to get a stroller open, but with just one pull (no force required), the Quantum2 pops open and is ready to use in seconds. When it’s time to store the stroller away again, unlike other multi-piece strollers, the seat and chassis neatly nest together like a puzzle and make the best use of your space.
The one-stop brake is also something to write home about! With a single click by your foot, the stroller locks in place for safety and security. One thing I detested about other stroller brakes is that they required you to put your foot UNDER the brake to lock. If I was wearing flip-flip or sandals this posed quite the dilemma as I would have to actually push it with my toes (not good for your pedi)! But with the Quantum2 you PUSH with your foot to lock and unlock the brakes – genius!
The design details of the Quantum2 are pretty spectacular too! From leatherette handles (how stylish is that?!), technical performance fabric, and an overall luxurious look – this stroller is meant to be seen – how gorgeous is the yellow colour? I love the 3-tier canopy which allows you to completely shield your child from the elements or when the sun comes from that awkward angle and hits them right in the eye, you’re able to block it completely. The seat is also really high up on the chassis which keeps your kids away from the ground and dirt or water if the roads are wet. And I can’t forget to mention the undercarriage basket which comes with a cover to keep your personal belongings clean and out-of sight when you’re out and about. I always hated having my things exposed for everyone to see or having them get wet with it was raining because they were too close to the ground. Now it’s not an issue with the Quantum2 and I love how large the basket is too!
We’ve been using the Diono Quantum2 for a few weeks now for school-drop off and trips to the mall, and I’m very happy with the function, durability and overall quality of the stroller. I really wish I had this when my kids were babies as it has everything a new mom needs to feel comfortable and safe when taking her baby out and about. I can’t wait to really test out it’s durability the next time that we travel as I think it’s definitely going to meet all of our travel needs and then some!
What’s the most important factor you look for when purchasing a stroller? I would love to know in the comments below!
