You can never have too many shoes, and that also goes without saying for the little ones. Yet with so many cute kids shoes out there, quality isn’t what it once was.

A few weeks ago though, we spent a lovely morning at the Yorkdale GEOX store shopping for quality footwear that kids actually want to wear. With a wide range of stylish options and most importantly – patented breathable soles – little feet stay dry no matter how long or hard they play. I also love how the insoles in each of their kids shoes can be removed when they start to get a little snug, extending their lifespan. We tried on a variety of colours and styles, and then settled on the perfect pair for each of these little munchkin’s personalities.

Massimo chose (with a little help from mama) a pair of stylish and fun sneakers that can be worn for playtime as well as dressed up with more formal attire. I love how versatile this pair is and how they look sleek and classy, but still have serious fun appeal. If you followed our day over on Snapchat (candacealongi), then you would have seen Massimo also loved a pair with light-up soles, so I’m thinking we need have to return soon to pick those up as well.

For Gemma, we chose a perfectly-pink pair of booties with great ankle support now that she’s walking around. Proper support for early walkers is extremely important for the growth and development of their little feet, so we made sure she got a pair that was just right for this stage.

Growing up, I remember my sister and I always had good quality footwear that lasted. And believe it or not, even a few exceptional pairs have stood the test of time and are now being worn by my little ones. Although tiny feet grow quickly, supportive and breathable shoes can have a significant impact on a child’s comfort level and the proper development of their little feet. Cheap and chic footwear certainly has it’s place, but you’ll never regret buying quality shoes that you can really feel good about putting your kids into.
