It’s not very often you find yourself in a small, intimate setting with Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha, AND have the chance to chat and do a load of laundry together! But that’s exactly where I found myself last week when LG Canada extended an invitation to attend the LG Ultimate Laundry Room Event in Toronto.

This couldn’t have been a more timely event for me to attend as our family is finally getting SO close to moving into our new home in early 2019. While I’m working on a whole bunch of spaces all at the same time, the laundry room is one of my top priorities because don’t we as moms spend a whole lot of time doing laundry? Well I certainly do, and I want to make sure that my surroundings are as enjoyable as possible while I’m doing it. I’m currently working on the room design – from tile, to cabinets to countertops – so to be able to learn all about the LG TWINWash™, LG SideKick™ Pedestal Washer and LG Styler – from Coco Rocha herself – was an absolutely amazing opportunity that helped to finalize my decisions on the most important elements of my laundry room.

The event kicked off with an introduction and fall fashion presentation by Coco Rocha. She shared a little about herself, her family, and her laundry story as a mom of two little ones. With a 6-month old and a toddler, laundry can pile up before you know it, so we loved hearing how she juggles her busy life as well as cares for the needs of her family at home. Her presentation was funny and very relatable, and it was so great to be able to meet her and have a little one-on-one time to chat about everything from kids to laundry hacks!

The event continued with a full, in-depth look at the entire LG TWINWash™ line-up and the LG Styler, including the many unique and interesting features of the appliances! Here are some of the highlights that have solidified for me that these are the only appliances I want in my new laundry room!

LG TWINWash™ + LG SideKick™ Pedestal Washer

This ultra-large smart Wi-Fi enabled front load washer is all about efficiency. The ultra-large capacity means you’re able to do more laundry in fewer loads and together with the LG SideKick™ you’re even able to do two separate loads simultaneously.  Getting more clothes clean in less time is exactly what every mom dreams of, and with the amount of children’s clothes that pile up during the week, spending less time doing laundry means more time spent with your little ones.  The washer uses steam technology to gently yet powerfully clean your fabrics eliminating all traces of dirt, odour and wrinkles.

While you’re washing larger, more heavy loads such as bedding or jeans in the front load washer, you can also take care of smaller loads like baby clothes, whites, or hand-wash items in the SideKick™. This even means being able to use two different detergents at the same time, such as washing your kid’s clothes in gentle, hypo-allergenic products like Purex Baby, all while you take care of your own laundry in my personal fave, Persil.

Another handy feature of this front-load washer is that at any time during the cycle, you can press “Pause” to add items that you might have forgotten such as socks or even a jacket! The door can be opened in as little as 3 seconds which means not having to wait if you forgot something.

The SideKick™ also comes in super-handy for those really small loads that just can’t wait! Whether it’s a designer sweater that requires “hand-washing”, or your kids favourite shirt that they just have to wear right away, you can quickly wash your custom loads without throwing on a full wash. Also, even if you’re not in the market for a new washing machine but are interested in adding the SideKick™ to your laundry suite, certain LG front load washers (2009 or newer) can accommodate this addition. Be sure to check if your current model is compatible.

And since the washer is wi-fi enabled, you can even do laundry on the go! SmartThinQ technology allows you to select a cycle, start/stop, or even get notifications on the status of your wash. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has left the house in the morning only to realize the washing machine was never turned on after filling it up with clothes. So now if I’ve forgotten something and I’m far away from home, it’s only a matter of touching a button to get that load going and ready for when you return. You can also monitor your laundry with Alexa or Google, and since our home is Google-enabled this is a feature I couldn’t be more excited about!

LG SteamDryer™

The ultra-large capacity electric steam dryer uses a steam generator to produce real steam giving you so many options to care for your specific needs, such as removing wrinkles, odours, static, and even allergens.

I’m in love with the SteamFresh™ Cycle which refreshes and reduces wrinkles in up to five items at a time in a 10-minute dryer cycle. This is perfect for when you’re rushing around the house before heading out and there isn’t enough time to iron your clothes.

And I don’t know about you, but I like to squeeze as many clothes into a load as possible (with terrible results in my current machine), but with a 7.4 cu.ft capacity, the LG SteamDryer™ can accurately dry big and bulky loads with ease! How perfect is that?!

One of my favourite features of the SteamDryer™ is the Downloaded cycle. Sometimes we have very specific needs when it comes to our clothes, so if you can’t find the cycle you’re looking for, a simple tap of a smart phone app will help you customize cycles to exactly what you’re looking for.

LG Styler

We were also introduced to the LG Styler at this event. This is a handy little closet that simultaneously refreshes, sanitizes, and dries your clothes, minimizing the need to send your items to the dry cleaners (which ultimately saves you time and money)! The moving hanger slides back and forth while a light steam mist is released over the clothes to remove wrinkles effortlessly.

You know how you cringe at the thought of how dirty your kids stuffed toys really are? Well thanks to TrueSteam® technology you can sanitize clothes, pillows, hockey equipment, and even children’s plush toys in the Styler, all while even reducing allergens. If I had this machine I would literally put every single stuffy in here for complete peace of mind!

Delicate clothing such as men’s suits, formal dresses, or anything else can be refreshed with the touch of a button reducing odour, wrinkles and keeping your clothes looking and smelling fresh. Even things like delicate sweaters that would normally require air drying can be safely dried much faster in the Styler and it’s so much gentler on the clothes.

The Styler can even keep the crease in your pants looking crisp while reducing wrinkling. The special door compartment allows you to press your pants without any work on your part, resulting in looking like they just came back from the cleaners.

The LG Ultimate Laundry Room Event opened my eyes to all the laundry possibilities, and I just can’t stop thinking about these dream appliances!
