I am so happy to finally reveal our baby girl’s nursery.  Decorating the home is one of my favorite hobbies and who wouldn’t love to design a dream nursery for a precious little one? This gender-neutral room was originally designed for our son in our previous home. We didn’t find out what we were having for both of our babies, so a fresh and modern design that would work for either gender was essential for this room. When we moved into our current home, I recreated the same design scheme to work in the new space with minor revisions to keep it current and inviting. I decided on an orange and grey color scheme with light aqua colored walls. Every time I walk into this room I’m so pleased I chose these colors, because they are so cheery and make you instantly feel happy!

This design is mix of high and low price points that come together really well. While the mainstays – the crib and change-table – were splurges, the pair of vintage armchairs were Craigslist scores that I just couldn’t pass up. Their petite frame and low seats make them the perfect size for a small room, and the updated chevron print make them fun and eye-catching. I mixed this bold print with the lighter grey polka-dot bedding and change pad cover for a clean yet vibrant look.

This is by far one of my most-loved rooms in the house with a close second being my sons new toddler room which I will be revealing soon, so stay tuned. There is so much room for creativity in children’s spaces, even gender neutral ones, that they are now my favorite rooms to design for, and I’m looking forward to the next design challenge as the kiddies continue to grow.
