Striped dresses are the epitome of summer and an everyday essential in any girls closet. This look is typical of what my summer days look like, and paired with flats it’s a perfectly comfortable outfit for a girl (or mama) on the go. This dress is old, but I’ve linked to a very similar dress that I also really want to add to my collection of striped dresses.
So as you may have seen on Instagram last week, May 18, 2016 was officially the one-year mark of the launch of themintedmama.com. Twelve months ago I pretty much knew nothing about blogging, but the idea of putting all my creative interests into one place and chronicling my journey along the way, was an appealing endeavor. I have learned so much over the course of the year and it hardly seems like work when your having this much fun!
I am definitely not in any position to start giving out blogging advice yet since I still have so much more to learn, but here are my top three pointers to getting your blog off to a good start.
1. Find a mentor. Try to connect with a successful blogger that resonates with your style and direction, and learn as much as you can. This has proven invaluable to me!
2. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. It can be intimidating to make your first pitch to brands in fear of rejection, but introducing yourself in a short email is a sure way to put you on their radar and open up new opportunities.
3. Make sure you’re having fun. At times it can become overwhelming to keep up with other responsibilities and your editorial calendar, but since this is suppose to be a fun and creative outlet, take a step back, re-focus and only take on projects you can handle at the moment.
To celebrate The Minted Mama’s #blogiversay, I have a few exciting giveaways happening this week. Hi Candace!
First of all, major congrats on your blog’s anniversary. I love the direction you’re going in and have been following along for the past few months :)
Second, there are so many reasons to love and choose natural beauty. For me, it has been the solution to all my skin problems and aligns, ethically, with my values and what i would like to support. The glaring advantage of natural beauty products is that using them has healed my seemingly never-ending batlle with breakouts AND means i need to use less products to cover my skin with! To be honest, with the Way my skin looks now as a result of Making better food and beauty product choices, i dont even Want to Cover my skin. I find myself wearing less and less makeup, and totally loving how my natural bare skin looks. That was a massive accomposhment for me, Since It felt like Beautiful skin was just something i would never have.
Anywho, i am already following you on insta, and now follow the Detox Market as well. My UN is @natalie.Pure.Sunshine. Email is natalie {@} ncpdesign.com
