Ever suddenly realize you’re missing an essential piece to your wardrobe and can’t believe how you’ve been surviving without it? Well that was me the other week when I suddenly came to the realization that I didn’t own a pair of flat ankle boots for the everyday grind. I like to think that I’ve put together a well curated collection of wardrobe essentials, but apparently the elusive black bootie never made it in.

After much panic and online scouring (well maybe not panic), I found the perfect pair for everyday errands, grocery runs, and everything in between from Union Jack Boots. The Kodiak Alma boot was just what I was looking for and offered everything a busy mom needs in a great pair of functional (and fashionable) boots. The fact that they are waterproof leather instantly helped them make the cut because there’s no time to watch where you’re stepping when you’ve got a toddler in one arm and a four-year old by the hand. The slip resistant rubber tread also added on the brownie points because I tend to take one (or two…okay maybe three) good tumbles every winter and am really hoping this year will be the one when that doesn’t happen.

Needless to say I can check the perfect everyday black bootie off of my shopping list and get back to learning how to walk!
